My Best Friend's Game
Nostalgia abound, "My Best Friend's Game" is a video game book club podcast that began in 2018 following three long-time friends, Tim, Evan and Max, as they each share their own favorite games with one another every month. Will that game make it to the other friends' favorite game lists? Or will it get two thumbs down?
The Logo
It took a while to really refine the design enough to the point where it had a nice balance between face and controller, but something I still wanted to keep playful, fun and inviting to anyone. The colors really helped out with that aspect, they're just super exuberant and friendly.
There's the main lockup further below, which was fun to bring to life with animation, but I wanted to keep it pretty casual and flexible as far as needing to switch up elements for a variety of uses and applications.
New Episode Social Post
I created a social template the guys could use to promote new episodes when they are released. Overall, I wanted it to be a little quirky, energetic and to obviously have some ties to video game culture.
Sound FX and music adds to the overall energy/vibe of the video - giving it a bit of a sense of wonder and intrigue before ending on a silly note.
MBFG Loot
I also explored some other possibilities for the branding in some promotional items which could be used to help raise funds for the running the show. Enamel pins, zip-up hoodies and canvas totes all seemed like some awesome starting swag.
